Poll: Two-Thirds of Jewish Voters Favour Democrats

A poll by the Jewish Voters Resource Center found that 67% of Jewish respondents plan to vote for Democratic congressional candidates in November and 26% for Republicans, JTA reported. JTA noted that the centre is led by prominent Jewish Democrats.

New York Boosts Security for Rosh Hashanah and 9/11 Anniversary

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said there are currently no "specific credible threats directed at High Holiday celebrations" in New York City, "but we remain vigilant," JTA reported. The first night of Rosh Hashanah coincides with the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. An Argentine court ordered the return of a painting looted by the Nazis from an Amsterdam Jewish art dealer to the collector's heir, after a Dutch journalist spotted it through a real estate advert for a house in Mar del Plata, JTA reported.
